Wine Tasting in Santa Barbara County

A Girl’s day trip searching for real estate to start a new company took a turn for the best when we stumbled into a winery that led to another winery, dinner, and a final wine bar in Santa Barbara County. On a beautiful Friday afternoon, our journey took us through multiple small communities, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Guadalupe, and Orcutt.

Episode #18 takes you through our journey from beginning to end

Spotify:

Our first stop was A Tribute to Grace, where we tasted four Grenaches with fruit sourced from different AVAs in California. Wines were described with descriptors like a sailboat!! Yes, I mean a sailboat, and I also understand what the winemaker was saying with that word as I sipped her wine. #angelaoborne #womenwinemakers #grenache

Our second location was Los Olivos Grocery in Los Olivos. An upscale market serving food from the deli and selling elevated sundries in its store, along with a great selection of local wines, beer, and spirits.

On our way to Guadalupe, we drove through Betteravia to view the silos in the now-gone town of Betteravia with a node to #joannagaines of Waco, TX, to create a marketplace in the old silos.

During our drive-through of Guadalupe, we stopped by the brand-new Guadalupe Social Club, fell in love with the ambiance and decor, and decided to taste their wine. The wine flight included a rose, chardonnay, pinot noir, and red blend. On the back of the tasting menu, I saw they carry Ranch Water—Texas’s latest and greatest drink. I will return to try that, as it was sold out everywhere I went. #yellowstone #ranchwater #texas. We enjoyed dinner at Don Charley’s and channeled our female version of Anthony Bourdain by tasting a salsa trio with our burritos and tacos. #anthonybourdain

Our journey ended in Orcutt, CA, at Lark & Sparrow Wine & Beer Gourmet Market—another small community on the central coast. Orcutt is a booming metropolis of food and drinks, as the town has opened several new facilities and is quite the hangout for locals all weekend long. I enjoyed a red wine from the Rhone Valley in France while she sipped on a glass of red wine from the Itata Valley in Chile.

To say our day was not a success or that we struck out because our search for real estate was a bust would be false. Our day was the best as we ventured into life and enjoyed the moment as it unfolded before us. To dream is living, but to live is a dream come true. #liveagoodlife #daretodream #winetasting #santabarbaracounty #centralcoast #california #femaleowners #lifeisgood #gourmetmarkets #foodandbeverage #gourmetfoods #provisionsandlibations
