Jammin’

Channeling her Connecticut roots, Erin has created a unique product line of Jams under the label, Jammin’.
Erin’s journey began with apple butter but quickly blossomed into many more products with her impressive list of ingredients. With her apple butter, she used a variety of apples and then switched gears for the pumpkin butter as it requires a different method to make and can.
Erin’s Pear butter also uses a combination of pears and lemon, and orange zest. She uses fresh ingredients like cardamom pods and nutmeg to make her cranberry sauce, which has proven to enhance the flavors.
Dulce de Leche, also known as “sweet of milk,” is similar to a caramel sauce to dip strawberries, apple slices, and biscotti. After making homemade Vanilla from Bourbon, Erin created a chocolate sauce that differentiates herself from Hershey’s with her unique flavor components.
And finally, last but not least, Erin created “Sunday Morning Mimosas” Orange Marmalade with the notion of Paddington Bear in London Square. The combination of orange rind with Champagne is reminiscent of what you find in the UK served with scones. Upon purchasing a jar for myself, I will refer to it as, Drunkin’ Marmie!!
Erin’s unique choices with her list of ingredients come from her culinary background and training at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, located along the Hudson River. The institute began in 1946 at Yale University for the GIs returning from the war. Erin honed her skills with world-renowned Chef Dieter Schorner, known for introducing Creme Brulee to the United States of America. He also baked a cake for Jackie Kennedy and a chocolate Souflee for Queen Elizabeth.
Erin has earned her Level 1 Sommelier certificate from the Guild of Master Sommeliers. She studied ten hours a day, focusing on regions, grapes, and the history of wine. It is no wonder why her Jams taste the way they do, she has started something extraordinary, and I look forward to following her dreams along the way.
